Christopher West creates a series of hand cut repetitive word phrases and tree branch assemblages. The artist draws the branches or writes a hand written phrase on paper which is then hand cut and spray painted. The artwork includes a wooden hanging system in which the paper floats of the wall approx 1/2 in casting a shadow on the wall giving the artwork a 3 dimensional quality. These works may also made available as a commission in which the text and size are customizable and scalable. These works may also be mounted framed or with plexiglass.
Christopher West was raised in rural Northern California’s Humboldt County. His work has been exhibited nationally, internationally and can be found in numerous private and public collections. West is currently an adjunct professor at the College of Marin and Santa Rosa Junior College, he lives and works in San Anselmo, CA.
