Trent Call is a multifaceted artist and works with various mediums for his projects, including oil, acrylic, and spray paint.

Call’s oil paintings combines classic figurative poses with modern pop-culture.  These gestural figures and portraiture emerge from layered, knifed-on, painterly grounds.  They are sanded and abstracted; his usual tubular brights merely peek out from behind the unassuming cream and beige colored paint that veils them.

Call graduated from the University of Utah in 2004 with a BFA and published in both Juxtapose and New American Paintings.  

  I believe in process, spontaneity, and action. My style and interests are varied, as are the mediums I use. My work combines formal academic painting and drawing with a strong interest in graffiti, comics, graphics, and pattern.
